GETTING YOUR CLASS-D DRIVER LICENSE (age 18 and older)

 

 

  REQUIRED DOCUMENT

 

– You need total 4 points of documents in the list AND Social Security Card

 

– If you don’t have a Social Security Card, you need 6 points and a letter from Social Security Office)

 

– Download an application form (MV-44) and fill this out

Make a reservation online to avoid waiting in long lines

– Don’t forget your eye glasses or contact lenses if you need them

 

– Fees will be charged – see how much you need

 

– If you don’t pass the test, you can take it again with no additional fee

 

 

  Now You get your INTERIM PERMIT at the DMV

 

 – LERNER PERMIT which looks like a real driver’s license will be mailed in a couple of weeks

 

 – LERNER PERMIT is valid for approximately 5 years. The exact expiration date depends on your date of birth and the date that you applied for the learner permit

 

 

 

  Take 5-Hour Pre-Licensing Course

 

Attend the course. We are a DMV-approved Course provider for driving instruction

 

– When you complete the course, you will be given a Pre-licensing Course Certificate (MV-278)

 

 – You must bring the original certificate to your road test

 

– The Certificate is valid for 1 year from the date it is issued
